ABOUT US Introduction The School for International Sustainable Development is a French-English dual language school in New York City, which aims to open in September 2008. With your support, this New York City public school will open its doors to the nearly 300,000 Francophones living in the city. The school will follow an American or international curriculum while assisting middle and high school students in maintaining and enriching their French and English academic language proficiency. Driven by the theme of International Sustainable Development, the school will raise students' awareness of the social, political and economic challenges our society faces in this new millennium. By partnering with linguistic, cultural and community organizations, the School for International Sustainable Development will support the academic success of a culturally diverse student body. Mission Statement The School for International Sustainable Development will seek to offer Francophone children a quality bilingual education in New York City. French and English will be the vehicles through which knowledge will be exchanged in classrooms and during internships. The mission of the School for International Sustainable Development is to introduce students to challenging issues that both developed and developing nations are facing today. By integrating real life examples into the curriculum and giving students an opportunity to work with these problems first-hand, the school will equip students with the analytical skills necessary to tackle diverse and thought-provoking matters.
